I wasn’t expecting this SKIL drill press (DP9505-00) to be amazing, just a temporary solution until my main one got fixed. But I was pleasantly surprised! It was easy to put together and seemed well-made. There was a slight wobble at first, but after I took the chuck out and put it back in, it improved a lot.

This drill press isn’t meant for super precise machining, but it held its own for its size. I even drilled a 1 1/2″ hole saw through a 1/4″ steel plate with some cutting oil, and it did a great job! I was sure I’d overload the motor, but it never burned out. The belt just slipped a little on the pulleys, and it seems to have some kind of automatic shut-off to prevent damage. Overall, I’m impressed. It tackled a 1-3/8″ hole saw in 3/8″ aluminum plate (not even carbide-tipped!) with minimal trouble.
